SEPANG, 30 JANUARY 2012 - MASkargo kick-starts 2012 with a vibrant and colourful Lion Dance performance to celebrate the addition of their third Airbus A330-200F.

As one of the few airlines in the world to own this unique type of aircraft, MASkargo’s third A330 will be serving and enhancing its presence in three primary markets of the Intra-Asia routes, namely; Pudong, Jakarta and Sydney.

The aircraft started its first flight from Amsterdam with a good note as it flew in with 60 tonnes of cargo, an excellent tonnage load.

Speaking at the celebratory luncheon in KLIA, Mohd Yunus Idris, Ag. CEO of MASkargo said:“The upgrade to a more efficient aircraft is in line with the company’s commitment to consistently serve our global customers better with improved service reliability, expanded capacity and wider network serving major trade routes.”

Among the advantages of the A330 is that it has a relatively higher payload for an aircraft within its range and a more flexible space for maximum usage, hence serving valued customers better with improvements on its On-Time-Performance. Apart from that, it also supports our effort to be more environmentally responsible as its technology complies with reduced carbon dioxide and noise emissions.

Furthermore, the fuel-efficient mid-size freighter will enable MASkargo to match capacity closely to demand on its short and medium haul route networks.

The A330-200F is the world’s most modern mid-size freighter and can carry 70 tonnes of payload, and offer a range of up to 4,000nm. For MASkargo, the aircraft’s performance and flexibility will enable direct freight services from its Kuala Lumpur base to destinations across Asia.

As part of its expansion plan, MASkargo ordered four A330-200F freighters. On 15th September 2011, MASkargo took the first delivery of its A330-200 freighters, followed by the second in November 2011.

Moreover, as part of MAS Group fleet modernization programme, MASkargo will have one of the youngest freighter fleet in the world upon the arrival of their fourth and final Airbus freighter in April 2012.
