In line with meeting the needs of the local forwarding industry, MASkargo is pleased to announce the following additional incentives effective 22nd December 2003.

Agent Redocumentation Transhipment Cargo Originating by Land from Singapore As an additional move to promote KLIA as a transshipment hub, MASkargo is pleased to announce that the Sea–Air and Air-Air Transhipment Cargo incentives will now be extended to Singapore.
The incentive will only be applicable for outbound shipments from Kuala Lumpur International Airport originating from Singapore by land transport. However, please note that transhipment cargo from KLIA to Singapore Changi and other airports and seaports in Singapore will NOT be eligible for this incentive The refund process will be as follows:-

Freight Forwarders will pay the full export terminal charges of RM0.20/Kg on acceptance of cargo

Freight Forwarders will submit application for 50% rebate on terminal charges for Sea-Air or Air-Air transhipment to our Cargo Admin Department within 07 days from the submission of cargo with the following documents :-

Copy of outbound Master Airwaybill

Copy of Bill of Lading

Approved copy of Customs Form K8 duly endorsed by Customs Department at the Main Causeway Johore Bahru or Tanjung Piai, Johore.

Approved copy of applicable Customs forms (i.e. White Transhipment Permit and Export Permits from Customs Department Singapore) for the purpose of transfer of cargo from Singapore to Malaysia.

Payment of the refund will be made after 30 days from the date of the refund application received.

Mode of Payment will be the issuance of credit note for Appointed Agent and Cheques for non appointed agent.

Agent Redocumentation Transhipment Cargo via Road and Rail Transportation from Thailand. MASkargo is also pleased to announce that an incentive of 50% rebate of the terminal charge will also be given for cargo transshipped by road or rail to Penang Airport or KLIA for onward export.
This rebate is only applicable for shipments coming from all points from Thailand by road and/or railway through the gazetted Royal Malaysian Customs road or railway entry points. Please note that only shipments into Kuala Lumpur and Penang International Airports for international outbound flights are eligible for this incentive. The refund process will be as follows:-

Freight Forwarders will pay the full applicable export terminal charges of RM0.20/Kg for Kuala Lumpur and RM 0.15/Kg for Penang on acceptance of export cargo respectively.

Freight Forwarders will submit application for 50% rebate on terminal charges for Sea to Air transshipment to our Cargo Admin Department within 07 days from the submission of cargo with the following documents:-

Copy of outbound Master Airwaybill

Approved copy of Customs Form K8 duly endorsed by Malaysian Customs Department at the gazetted Customs road / rail entry points e.g. Johore Bahru, Bukit Kayu Hitam etc. and at KLIA.

Approved copy of applicable Customs export forms and permits of the country of the last point of embarkation prior to entry into Malaysia

Payment of the refund will be made after 30 days from the date of the refund application received.

With these additional incentives we trust that KLIA will grow further towards being the cargo hub of the region. Our earlier circular SGMC/CIR/002/0040 dated 6th July 2001 is referred as well.
