MASkargo Pioneers the Use of the FPX System

MASkargo was recently recognised as one of the early adopters for Malaysia's first real time online inter-bank Internet payment gateway, Financial Process Exchange (FPX).

At the FPX launch ceremony on 28 October 2004, Senior General Manager (Cargo), J J Ong received a special plaque recognizing MASkargo's role as one of the pioneers of this ground breaking national project.

The first-ever transaction using the FPX facility was conducted by MASkargo in September. The adoption of this facility into MASkargo's integrated e- commerce system is one of the key components of the overall concept.

FPX, a national project, facilitates online payments for e-commerce transactions in particular B2B and B2C (business to business and business to consumer) transactions on a secure and multi-bank platform.

To ensure the cargo agents are fully briefed on the implementation of this concept, a series of roadshows are being conducted by the Freight Revenue and Cargo ITPS departments.
