MASkargo Flies In Largest Vaccine Shipment To Date
Friday 21 May 2021 was a busy morning for the team in MASkargo as they prepared for the arrival of more than a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
MH361 arrived at 0750hrs with 500,000 doses of Sinovac from Peking in three units of temperature-controlled air cargo containers (RAP). This was followed by the arrival of MH6125 with 559,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from Amsterdam at 0845hrs. The shipment was built up like normal cargo as the AstraZeneca vaccines were packed in special boxes containing ice gel packs. Therefore, the use of RAP was not required.
Due to the sensitivity of the product, pre-alerts were shared with the task force to ensure the proper handling of the precious shipments according to the set SOPs. After inspection upon arrival and the necessary documentation for shipment release completed, the vaccines were then carefully loaded onto awaiting Pharmaniaga trucks. The trucks then left the MASkargo warehouse under armed escort by the Royal Malaysian Police.
All in, it was a concerted effort by the teams in AMS, BJS, and KUL to ensure the success of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. Kudos to the team in the spirit of #kitajagakita #lindungdirilindungsemua
