On the 1 October, 32 MASkargo staff voluntarily participated for the ‘Warehouse Sweep’ activity - in a bid to uplift the warehouse for its quality, environmental and safety & health management.

The initiative brought by MH Juara (Cargo) strives in creating awareness amongst the staff and vendors about safety and health issues in the warehouse with special emphasis on waste management, waste reduction and recycling.

Among the objectives of this activity is to foster awareness of teamwork at MASkargo, reinforce commitment towards the company’s shared goals and objectives and encourage improvement at the workplace.

“Taking part in such activities is in line with our certification – the Integrated Management System (IMS) objectives of implementing best practices to enhance the quality of life of workers at their workplace,” said Ahmad Luqman, Ag. Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Government Affairs.

Anthony Clement, Senior Manager of Operations and MH Juara (Cargo) representative said, “We've been advocating safety and health issue at the grassroots level since the warehouse began its operation. Therefore, we encourage the Warehouse Sweep activity that aims to restore the warehouse into a safe and healthy work area.”

The half-day morning activity which is a first of its kind at MASkargo, gathered volunteers from different departments at strategic locations inside the warehouse.

Volunteers were divided into three groups, headed by experienced personnel - Mohd Zulkarnain Mohd Yudin (Senior Manager, Business Development), Hanuar Ahmad (Senior Officer, Dangerous Goods & Safety) and Harjit Singh Nand Singh (Senior Officer, Operations Commercial – Exports).

Many were excited to be part of this activity as they were able to gain first-hand experience on the daily activities that took place inside the warehouse.

Amazingly, the tiring activity saw cheerful expressions during the lunch gathering at the Multi Purpose Hall (MPH).
