A total of 30 students and six lecturers from Kolej UNITI visited MASkargo on 10 January 2013, and they were presented on the supply chain of the air cargo business.

The students were introduced to Abdul Wahab Abu Bakar, Outbound Manager where the session began with a breakfast, an interactive two-hour presentation, followed by a brief tour of MASkargo’s facilities.

Among the areas visited is cargo acceptance, import release, express handling, perishable units and the famous Animal Hotel.
“I now have a birds-eye-view on how air cargo business works as this will certainly help with my research paper. Not forgetting, I was also in awe with the Material Handling Cargo System (MHCS) where most of the operations are mechanically computerized,” said Mohammad Farid Azhar, a semester six student from Business Management.

Abdul Wahab was very pleased with the variety of questions posed by the students and lecturers. Among the enquiries were how to keep the balance of the aircraft, type of shipments, how to calculate the utilization of maximum hours for each flight and etc.
Before leaving, the visitors complimented MASkargo’s hard work and they believe that this lively visit experience has greatly enriched their knowledge learnt from books.

MASkargo receives at least two visits every month mainly from forwarding agents, shippers and universities. It provides rich opportunities to educate the public for a better understanding about MASkargo’s operation.
