Incident At Indira Ghandi International Airport Cargo Terminal – General Cargo Embargo Lifted

MASkargo Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Malaysia Airlines Cargo Sdn Bhd) confirms that on January 5, 2012 at approximately 0100 hours one of the warehouses at the cargo terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) caught fire. No casualties have been reported and the affected area comprises of only airline offices (import section) and hence, no cargo consignment has been affected in any way. The damage seems to be limited to office equipment and furniture. Due to investigations underway, an embargo has been imposed with immediate effect till January 9, 2012.

MASkargo wishes to inform that they are putting all efforts to reduce cargo delays. We would also like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconveniences caused to our business partners and customers. Further updates will be provided accordingly.

Update as at  7 Jan 2012, 7.36pm (Malaysia Time): Please be informed that the embargo for general cargo has been lifted.
