Sepang, October 27 2016 – MAB Kargo has launched new freighter services to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (China), adding to its rapidly growing network of 23 dedicated cargo routes. The new service will operate twice weekly flights to CKG on days 5 & 7 and the company expects to start its service by October 30th, 2016. MAB Kargo also recently added a third A-330 freighter to their fleet that offers 60 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is one of the rising prominent aviation hubs for freighter movement; especially in the export of high value electronic goods. Chongqing city is known for housing big electronic manufacturing companies, such as Apple, Asus and Hewlett – Packard. With these new flights, it will allow MAB kargo to facilitate the transportation of electronic goods of major companies, such as Apple, Asus and Hewlett – Packard to South, and East Asia countries via transit hub KUL. This new additional route will drive MAB Kargo to expand their network throughout the China region and capitalize on the air freight growth of the emerging market.

MAB Kargo is also restructuring its freighter fleet and is exiting use of the Boeing 747 freighter and is concentrating solely on operating the Airbus A330 Freighter. “With the 330 operations it puts us within a seven to eight hour radius from Kuala Lumpur radius, which makes China an important market for us” said the Chief Executive Officer of MAB Kargo, Mr. Ahmad Luqman Ahmad Azmi. Alongside Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, MAB Kargo freighter network also serves Hong Kong International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Zhengzhou XinZheng International Airport.
